Tom was born in Trenton, New Jersey, in 1894. He was the second child of Henry and Annie (Ingram) Conrad. Annie died some time between the time Tom was born and his father remarried in 1910 when Tom was 16. Tom himself only lived 30 years, but during that span of time quite a few pictures were taken.

I can’t resist these pictures, primarily because they show the clothes worn at the time. What amazes me is that they were so fussy and intricate at a time when clothes had to be hand washed and painstakingly ironed. Today (early 2000’s) clothes are much simpler and most material does not need ironing.

I think Annie would have been in this picture if she had been alive in 1902.
